BreakOut presents UK DJ and producer Sub Focus
SUB FOCUS makes his long-awaited return to New Zealand, bringing Kiwi fans a first taste of his new and critically acclaimed arena show CIRCULAR SOUND. A stunning and cinematic audio-visual experience, CIRCULAR SOUND will hit Auckland’s Trusts Arena on Saturday, October 15 and the Garden city’s Christchurch Arena on Labour Weekend, Sunday October 23.
The British producer will also bring his high energy DJ sets to Dunedin’s Union Hall on Friday, October 14, Hamilton’s The Factory on Friday, October 21 and Napier’s Pettigrew Green Arena on Saturday, October 22, alongside MCID.
One of the leading names in dance music, SUB FOCUS remains an influential figure in the Drum & Bass scene, coming in hot after revealing the first taster of new music to come with new singles ‘It’s Time’ ft. Gene Farris and ‘Off The Ground’. Both tracks went viral thanks to the huge reaction the songs received by the crowd, fans and peers alike after performing live versions at his recent sold-out debut of Circular Sound at Printworks, London.
Having originally made a name for himself on Andy C’s Ram Records in the late noughties, he went on to release chart-topping singles and albums on EMI Records, being awarded multiple gold and silver discs in the process and is responsible for writing some of the genres biggest anthems: Desire, Tidal Wave and Timewarp. He had a record 9 songs in the Top 100 D&B tracks on George FM this year, with 2 in the top 5, as voted for by it’s listeners.
He’s since become an international headline act performing at the likes of Coachella, Glastonbury, Tomorrowland, EDC, Warehouse Project, and having sold out Brixton Academy and Printworks London as a solo act. In 2009 he released his self-titled debut album, his second album Torus in 2013 and joined forces with fellow D&B big hitter Wilkinson on their acclaimed collaborative album Portals in 2020. In 2021, Sub Focus released his debut remix album Reworks I featuring remixes of his originals from Dimension, Culture Shock, Camo & Krooked and more, as well as officially remixing Rag’n’Bone Man, Camelphat and ACRAZE at the start of the year. More new music is due for 2022.
Supporting Sub Focus on his arena tour is UK Drum and Bass producers goddard.* and KRAKOTA , with local support across the tour. (*Auckland, Christchurch, Napier only).
